Deeds are conveyances which transfer title of property from one party to another. The deed gives date of instrument, names of grantor (seller) and grantee (purchaser), location of property, amount paid for the property, grantor's notarized signature, certification of county clerk, and date recorded.

McCracken County, the seventy-eighth county formed in Kentucky, was created in 1825 from part of Hickman County. It is named for Virgil McCracken. Paducah is the county seat.
